IONco Harvester was founded in 1993, eventually becoming IONco, Inc. It is the brain child of visionary inventor George Gray, who has spent over 40 years working and thinking about the challenges of fruit harvesting.

IONco, Inc. is the holder of patents used in the design and operation of automated picking arms. IONco performs its product development through alliances and sub-contractors, and is currently a member of a consortium of private companies and universities to develop more effective, more advanced robotic fruit picking devices than are available anywhere in the world today.
